At Alma, we are on a mission to accelerate the transition to zero emissions in the ocean space. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, shaping our operations and product development to foster a cleaner and more responsible future.
We acknowledge the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and strategically focus on five specific goals, chosen for their direct impact on our industry and their synergy with our values and capabilities.
SDG 7 – Affordable and clean energy: We commit to advancing affordable clean energy in the ocean space through our highly efficient solid oxide fuel cell systems, which are designed to be adaptable to various fuel types, supporting the transition to more sustainable energy sources.
SDG 9 – Industry, innovation and infrastructure: We are building our value chain in compliance with stringent ESG criteria, and pioneering advanced technologies to foster sustainable innovation within the maritime industries.
SDG 12 – Responsible consumption and production: In our power solutions, we prioritize energy efficiency and end-of-life recyclability, actively contributing to the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources.
SDG 13 - Climate action: Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a net-zero ocean space, directly contributing to climate action by reducing greenhouse gas emissions from maritime power systems.
SDG 17 – Partnerships for the goals: Recognizing the magnitude of our task, we are committed to forging strategic collaborations and partnerships that amplify our collective impact towards these goals and contribute to a fair and sustainable industry.
ENVIRONMENT
Our fuel-flexible technology facilitates a reduction in fossil fuel usage and promotes green fuels. The high operational efficiency results in less fuel consumption and subsequently, fewer emissions when operating on fossil fuels.
A significant portion of our product lifecycle emissions arise from material extraction and pre-processing. We are dedicated to minimizing our environmental footprint through strategic supply chain management, life cycle analyses, utilization of clean energy facilities, recycling, and material reuse. We comply to requirements outlined in ISO 14001 and strive to escalate the outcome of our identified positive environmental aspect, and reduce, where possible, on our negative impacts.
SOCIAL
Our products are engineered to significantly reduce emissions, thereby contributing to cleaner air and a healthier environment for communities globally.
We adhere to the Transparency Act and enforce stringent controls for third parties and suppliers. Our operational practices emphasize fair working hours, work-life balance, equality, diversity, and inclusion. We prioritize our employees' welfare and adhere to the ISO 45001 criteria. We maintain a strict stance against any form of discrimination and strive to create a positive and inclusive work environment.
GOVERNANCE
Good governance ensures our products align with quality, safety, and ethical standards. This includes responsible supply chain management, compliance with regulatory and data privacy norms, and fostering innovation while minimizing risks. Through governance, our products reflect ethical practices, transparency, and accountability, thereby contributing to long-term value.
We are committed to fostering sustainability, integrity, and responsibility in our operations. Our sustainability approach is centered on making decisions that bring value to our company, stakeholders, and society at large. Transparent sustainability reporting is crucial to our company. We aim to minimize environmental harm and ensure that communities benefit positively from our operations. We staunchly oppose all forms of corruption and economic crimes, while prioritizing data privacy and cybersecurity and we adhere to the ISO 27001 criteria.
